MINER, Circuit Judge:

Defendant-appellant James Leonard appeals from a judgment of conviction and sentence entered on March 22, 1994 in the Unit ed States District Court for the Eastern District of New York (Hurley, J.), the defendant having pleaded guilty to conspiring to distribute hashish, in violation of 21 U.S.C. § 841(a)(1). The district court sentenced Leonard to a prison term of seventy months, a five-year term of supervised release and a $50 special assessment. Leonard challenges his sentence on two grounds.
