This is a direct appeal by the defendant, Matthew Mills, from a jury conviction in the circuit court of Cook County for unlawful possession of drugs in violation of section 22 — 3 of the Criminal Code. (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1965, chap. 38, par. 22—3.)
