Plaintiff in error was convicted in the municipal court of Chicago on the charge of carrying concealed, in and about an automobile in which he was riding, a pistol and a revolver. The trial was without a jury. He was sentenced to imprisonment in the house of correction for six months and to pay a fine of $100 and costs. Prior to the commencement of the trial, Henneman’s counsel filed a motion to suppress the firearms as evidence, on the ground that they were illegally seized when the police officers, following an unlawful arrest, searched his person and the automobile in which he was riding.…
