Defendant, the University of Colorado, appeals from the trial court’s order denying its motion to dismiss the complaint of plaintiff, Deborah E. Booth. We affirm.

On October 8, 1998, plaintiff, while sitting in a classroom at the University of Colorado at Boulder, was injured when a dry erase board fell over, pinning her to her desk. Plaintiff brought this action seeking compensation for the injuries she sustained.

Defendant moved to dismiss plaintiffs complaint for lack of jurisdiction under the Colorado Governmental Immunity Act (GIA), § 24-10-101, et seq., C.R.S.2001.…
