Appeal from a judgment of the County Court of Washington County (Berke, J.), rendered October 10, 2000, convicting defendant upon his plea of guilty of the crime of attempted promoting prison contraband in the first degree.
Defendant, a prison inmate, was charged with promoting prison contraband in the first degree after he was discovered to be in possession of an 83/4-inch-long metal rod sharpened on one end.
