Plaintiff, Ronda Joy Williams King, was seriously injured in the early morning hours of 21 October 1977, when the car in which she was a passenger collided with a tractor-trailer truck parked in her lane of travel on the 1-85 service road just south of Greensboro. King filed this negligence action against the defendant car driver and owner, Sandra Hudson Allred, the defendant tractor-trailer driver, Lloyd G.
