Petitioner, a former public school teacher, retired under the provisions of section 1092 of the Greater New York Charter, commonly known as the Teachers’ Retirement Law, seeks a peremptory order of mandamus to compel the defendant to increase her annual pension to the sum of $1,437.50. The allowance to retired .teachers is made up of two components: an annuity based upon the accumulated salary deductions in the retirement fund, and a pension based upon length of service.
