PHILLIPS, Circuit Judge:
Gwendolyn Miltier, an inmate at the Virginia Correctional Center for Women (VCCW), was found dead next to her bed in the prison clinic after having suffered an acute heart attack. Katherine Miltier (Mil-tier), administratrix of her daughter Gwendolyn’s estate, brought this 42 U.S.C. § 1983 action against defendant doctors, nurses, wardens, and prison administrators (collectively, defendants), asserting that defendants violated Gwendolyn’s eighth amendment right to be free from deliberate indifference to a serious medical need during her incarceration at VCCW.
