SULLIVAN, Justice.

In a prosecution for murder, a jury con-viected Jessie Lee Wright of Reckless Homicide.1 The trial court sentenced Wright to eight years in prison. A divided panel of the Court of Appeals reversed Wright's conviction on the ground that the trial court improperly instructed the jury that it could conviet Wright of the lesser included offense of Reckless Homicide.
