RThis appeal arises out of the trial court’s judgment finding defendant to be in contempt of court, taxing court costs associated with the contempt rule, and awarding $2,500.00 in attorney fees. We find the evidence sufficient to support the trial court’s finding of contempt; however, we find the trial court improperly awarded $2,500.00 in attorney fees in favor of plaintiffs because La. R.S. 13:4611 permits only a maximum fine of $500.00 payable to the court. We affirm the trial court’s judgment finding defendant in contempt of court and taxing costs…
