Venita Therrell, Alexandria Thacker, and Grace Tate Peterson (collectively, “the Tate heirs” 1) brought a diversity action in federal district court against Georgia Marble Holdings Corporation, Walter Industries, Inc. d/b/a The Georgia Marble Company, and Jim Walter Corporation2 (collectively, “Georgia Marble”).
