THE COURT.

Gentlemen of the Juiy: The plaintiff has brought this action to recover damages for harboring and. concealing four colored persons who were his slaves in Kentucky, by reason of which they were enabled to escape, and he has lost their services. It is proved that the plaintiff is a citizen of Boone county, Kentucky, and that he held, as his property, the negroes — Lucy, Lewis, George, and James — named in the declaration.
