R. L. and B. A. Hardy were brothers and associates in a business which had prospered. In 1903 B. A. Hardy married Miss Gertrude Cotham, and to that union two children were born, a daughter named Louise, who married a Mr. Graham, and his son named Benjamin A. R. L. Hardy became involved in a-feud with MeVey 'brothers who assaulted and beat him. B. A. Hardy entered the feud and shot one of the McYeys, and was later killed by them in September, 1907. R. L.
