On December 8, 1977, the Cascade County attorney’s office applied to this Court seeking a writ of supervisory control upon these facts:

On June 23, 1976, defendant Thomas Staplkemper was arrested at his home for the shooting of a Great Falls police officer. During the arrest various articles were seized and statements were made. Defense counsel made a pretrial motion to suppress all evidence seized at the defendant’s home and all statements made during the arrest.
