Plaintiffs Albert H. Samost and Timothy E. Shaughnessy appeal from an order granting Defendant Duke University’s motion for judgment on the pleadings pursuant to N.C. Gen. Stat. § 1A-1, Rule 12(c), and dismissing their complaint with prejudice. On appeal, Plaintiffs argue that the trial court erred by entering judgment on the pleadings in favor of Defendant on the grounds that their complaint, when considered in light of the applicable standard of review, adequately asserted a breach of contract claim.
