Willie Daryl Morris was convicted on two counts of aggravated assault, one count of aggravated battery, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. Following the denial of his motion for new trial, Morris filed this appeal. He contends that the State failed to prove venue beyond a reasonable doubt and that the trial court erred in admitting similar transaction evidence. Morris also complains that his convictions for aggravated assault and aggravated battery should have merged for sentencing purposes. After review, we affirm his convictions with the exception of…
