Defendant, a bookdealer, found in possession of a large number of magazines which purported to contain true *31cases of crimes from police records and files, was convicted in the Court of Special Sessions of the City of New York of a violation of subdivision 2 of section 1141 of the Penal Law.

The statute reads as follows:
