Staff Sergeant Christopher J. Roberts pleaded guilty to one specification of assault consummated by a battery upon his wife (ER) and not guilty to the following three specifications: a separate assault consummated by a battery upon ER; the rape of ER; and communicating a threat to ER. A military judge sitting as a general court-martial found him guilty of all charges.
