Sheila (“Sheila”) and Joseph (“Joseph”) Cato (collectively “Catos”) and The Leadership Council for Metropolitan Open Communities (“Council”) sue George (“George”) and Beverly (“Beverly”) Jilek (collectively “Jileks”) under 42 U.S.C. § 1982 (“Section 1982,” part of the Civil Rights Act of 1866) 1 and under Fair Housing Act § 804 (Section 3604, part of Title VIII of the Civil Rights Act of 1968, Sections 3601-3619) 2 for alleged discrimination in the rental of housing.
