Mary Jo Woodward sued the Health Care Authority of the City of Huntsville d/b/a Huntsville Hospital, on March 19, 1997, seeking to recover damages for personal injuries she sustained while on Huntsville Hospital's premises. Woodward alleged that she was a business invitee of Huntsville Hospital; that the hospital had negligently maintained the walkways to the entrance of the emergency room; and that its negligence had caused her injuries.
