This is an action of contract in which the plaintiff seeks to recover, as *188beneficiary of a Massachusetts Savings Bank Life Insurance Policy No. F-7806, its face amount in the sum of $1000. The policy is of a type known as a Five Year Term. It was renewable and was originally issued by the defendant, hereinafter referred to as the insurer, on May 8, 1941 on the life of Fred Albert Simmons, Jr. hereinafter referred to as the insured.
