MIRABAL, Justice.
The juvenile court found appellant, N.J.A., engaged in delinquent conduct and committed her to the Texas Youth Commission for an indeterminate sentence. We reverse.
Appellant was born on October 21, 1977. She was 16 years old on May 22, 1994, the date of the alleged offense. She was 17 years old on November 1, 1994, when the State filed: (1) its original petition alleging appellant had engaged in delinquent conduct; and (2) a waiver of jurisdiction and certification petition.
