The defendant, Herbert Stone, was indicted by a grand jury in Marion county for having stolen five cows from C. V. Bowen, of the value of $200. A jury found him guilty and fixed the value of the stolen property at $112.40. Judgment was entered on the verdict and the defendant was sentenced to the Southern Illinois Penitentiary for an indeterminate period. The cause is in this court on writ of error.
