I. Background
Plaintiff-Appellant Lawrence Grecol appeals the denial of disability insurance benefits under Title II of the Social Security Act. Grecol worked for many years as an electrician, until a combination of an injury and a degenerative condition forced him to stop performing that work in 1993. He currently claims to be suffering from severe pain in his head, neck and shoulders, *774as well as disorders in his back, hips and knees.
