This case involves contempt proceedings for Mr. Dawson's failure to pay child support. Though the parties are no longer married to each other, they will still be referred to as the husband and the wife.

The parties reached a written agreement in their divorce case and the June 29, 1983 final divorce judgment of the trial court expressly contained those settlement provisions in detail. In pertinent parts, the husband was ordered to pay, effective May 27, 1983, $400 each month for the support of two of their minor children.
