The plaintiff, Criswell, sued the defendant and appellant, Seaman, and the Electric Company to recover damages for injuries sustained by him upon receiving an electric shock on September 28, 1936, while working as one of a crew employed by Worden in erecting structural steel as a subcontractor under Permanent, which as the general contractor was constructing a crane-runway building for Seaman on premises owned and used by it as a manufacturing plant in which it employed many men.
