Brandt Sappenfield has filed a personal restraint petition seeking relief from an order imposing restitution and court cost obligations arising from a 1986 sentence in King County for burglary and other property crimes. Sappenfield completed a one-year prison sentence for those crimes. He argues that the trial court lost jurisdiction to enforce its order after August 1996 because 10 years had elapsed since the entry of that order.
