George Pierce, plaintiff in error, was, with Edward Robinson, Benny Albert Scott, and Louis Offield, jointly indicted at the August term, 1942, of the criminal court of Cook county, for the murder of Joseph Claudy, which occurred July 27, 1942. By two other indictments, returned at the same term, they were charged with two separate robberies, also committed on July 27, 1942. All defendants pleaded guilty to the two robbery charges.
