In this capital murder case, the State seeks to introduce the testimony of its expert witness who opines that his three dogs have identified the defendant’s scent to be present on items recovered from the crime scene, based on a later police-constructed scent-discrimination lineup. The State challenges the trial court’s pretrial ruling excluding this testimony as unreliable.
