Defendant, Thomas Ray Barnes, was convicted after a jury trial of murder in the first degree, in violation of § 565.020, RSMo.1986, and robbery in the first degree, in violation of § 569.020, RSMo.1986. He was sentenced to concurrent terms of twenty-five years and life imprisonment without parole.
