James Powell executed a document purporting to be his will in compliance with all required legal formalities, on July 26, 1927, and died about two months later, on September 19. He was eighty-three years old and was ill with intestinal nephritis and chronic myocarditis and confined to his bed for several months before his death. His heirs were his son and daughter, Charles H. Powell and Anna L. Christman, and he had several grandchildren, the children of Charles and Anna.
