Defendant Rexnord, Inc. appealed the $47,500 jury verdict rendered in favor of plaintiff Cincinnati Fluid Power, Inc. (CFP) in this diversity action based on promissory estoppel as recognized in Ohio jurisprudence. The circumstances which gave rise to this litigation are set forth below. 1
