Two sisters, Sue and Elizabeth McNeill, and a brother, George McNeill, had never married and all made their home together in Laurel County in or near the village of Pittsburg, Kentucky. The two sisters were admirable ladies, industrious, frugal, self-sacrificing and intelligent. George was so addicted to the use of liquor that he became a dipsomaniac.
