This case involves an allegation of a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) violation by an inmate at the Women’s Unit of the Arkansas Department of Correction. The inmate, appellant Mary Lee Orsini, contends that the appellees who are officers of the Arkansas Department of Correction as well as the Department itself withheld information vital to her defense at a disciplinary proceeding. Orsini further contends that she was denied a hearing within seven days of her FOIA request, as required by Ark. Code Ann. § 25-19-107(b) (Repl. 1996). We agree that Orsini should have…
