In these related cases, Carol Grant (“Grant”) brought wrongful death actions against the Georgia Forestry Commission (“GFC”) and the Georgia Department of Transportation (“GDOT”) arising out of an automobile collision that resulted in the death of Grant’s husband, Myles N. Grant, and her son, Joell D. Grant. Grant appeals the trial court’s dismissal of GFC and GDOT on the grounds that the doctrine of sovereign immunity bars her claims.
