John Henry Daniel was convicted of killing his ex-wife’s boyfriend and was sentenced to life in prison. His retained attorney appeals on behalf of the defendant in Case No. 37791 and the defendant appeals, pro se, in Case No. 37831.

The defendant confronted his ex-wife and her boyfriend when they arrived home at their duplex at about 10:35 the evening of June 2, 1979. He pointed a gun at them and told them not to move.
