The land in controversy was sold by the county treasurer on the second day of September, 1878, for the delinquent taxes for the years 1871 and 1872. At that time the tax on said land was unpaid and delinquent for all the years from 1871 to 1876, inclusive. On the thirtieth day of September, 1878, Easton paid all the delinquent taxes for the years 1873, 1874, 1875 and 1S76, and paid the taxes for the subsequent years as they became due.
