C. M. Pritchett sued Highway Insurance Underwriters, a reciprocal insurance exchange, and also three individuals, Davis, Turner and Caruthers, doing business as insurance agents under that name. The plaintiff alleged that he was the owner of a certain tractor and trailer and while operating this equipment in the State of Illinois, as a result of a collision with another truck, he became obligated for and paid out approximately $1,600.00 in settlement of a claim against him for property damage.
