Jesse Barton Ledbetter (Ledbetter) appeals his conviction by the Circuit Court of the City of Bristol for driving under the influence (DUI) on a new warrant issued by the court charging a violation of a state statute following his conviction in general district court on a defective warrant charging a violation of a city ordinance. Ledbetter asserts that (1) the circuit court had no subject matter jurisdiction to try the case on the new warrant and should have remanded the case to the general district court, (2) by issuing a new warrant, the nature and character of the offense…
