This is a civil action in admiralty to recover damages caused by the loss of the vessel Frenchman in Camden harbor, Maine on April 25, 1968, while the Frenchman was in the care and custody of the defendant as a bailee for hire. The parties have agreed that the only issues presented are: (a) whether the loss of the Frenchman was the result of any negligence of the defendant; and (b) the value of the Frenchman immediately prior to her loss.
