DECKER, Judge.

Candice Cossitt-Manica appeals her conviction for perjury in violation of Code § 18.2-434. She contends that the evidence is insufficient to support the conviction. She also argues that the refusal of her proffered jury instruction defining the elements of the offense was error. We hold that the record before us contains insufficient evidence to provide the strong independent corroboration required to support a conviction for perjury. Therefore, we reverse the appellant’s conviction and dismiss the indictment. In light of this holding, the Court does not reach the appellant’s…
