A jury convicted Frank Ruiz of two counts of aggravated sexual assault committed against his wife. Ruiz was sentenced to twenty years in prison on one count and to twenty-five years on the second. Ruiz appeals the judgment, asserting the evidence is legally insufficient to sustain the guilty verdicts, his trial counsel rendered ineffective assistance, and the trial court erred in restricting his cross-examination of the complainant during the guilt phase of the trial and in admitting evidence of extraneous acts during the punishment phase.
