This is an original proceeding in certio-rari to review the issuance of a writ of habeas corpus directing the Department of Corrections (“DOC”) to grant Paul A. Haldeman more than seven months of “jail-time” credit on his May 13, 1996, sentence for sexual assault. The habeas court granted credit for the time Mr. Haldeman had already served in prison from October 6, 1995, to May 13, 1996, on an April 1994 conviction.
