Appellees filed their bill for partition in the Knox circuit court, making appellants and others parties defendant, for the partition of certain blocks and parts of blocks in the village of Wa'taga, in said Knox county. The property described in the bill, designated as the Holyoke property, was the homestead of one Booker Pickerel, who was the grandfather of appellees. Booker Pickerel’s wife was Amelia, and on the 30th day of June, 1884, he and his wife entered into an agreement under seal and acknowledged, by which a life estate to her in the real estate in question, together with certain…
