BOWMAN, Circuit Judge.
Defendant Richards Manufacturing Company (Richards) appeals from a judgment for plaintiffs Noble Ferren and his wife Margaret Ferren entered by the District Court 1 following a jury verdict. See 28 U.S.C. § 1291. Jurisdiction in the District Court was based on diversity of citizenship. See 28 U.S.C. § 1332. Specifically, defendant challenges the District Court’s denial of its motion for judgment notwithstanding the verdict or, in the alternative, for a new trial. 2 We affirm the award of actual damages but reverse the award of punitive damages.
