The plaintiff railroad worker filed an action under the Federal Employers Liability Act alleging that the defendant railroad company violated its duty to provide a reasonably safe workplace during an off-site meeting by failing to anticipate that a stairway defect or debris on the stairway constituted a tripping hazard.
