Hardesty, J.:
While working as a firefighter with appellant City of Las Vegas, respondent Robin Lawson was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1997 and again in 2005. In this appeal, we first consider whether Lawson’s 2005 notice of her claim for workers’ compensation was timely. Because we conclude that Lawson did not learn from her physician until 2005 that her breast cancer was related to her work as a firefighter, we conclude that she gave the City timely notice of her occupational disease claim.
