JOHNSON, Circuit Judge:

The plaintiffs appeal from an adverse judgment entered by the district court sit*268ting in admiralty.1 After trial the court found that the limitation of liability specified in the Carriage of Goods by Sea Act [COGSA], 46 U.S.C.A. §§ 1300-1315, barred the plaintiffs from recovering the full value of 14 cartons of cargo lost in the Port of Miami.2 The district court found the defendants Barber Blue Sea Line and Harrington & Company, Inc., liable to the extent of $500 per carton, a total of $7,000. We affirm the district court’s judgment.
