Richard D. Rambin (“Mr.Rambin”) was an employee of Shreveport Refrigeration, Inc. on October 30, 1985, when he was involved in an automobile accident while in the scope of his employment. Mr. Rambin filed suit against the tortfeasor and others the following year.1 Shreveport Refrigeration, Inc. was self-insured for workers’ compensation claims through Louisiana Retailer Association Self Insurers Fund (the two entities are collectively referred to herein as “LRA”).
