ERICKSON, Justice.
The defendant, Harold Williamsen, was convicted by a Boulder County Court jury of driving while under the influence of alcohol (DUI). See § 42-4-1202(l)(a), 17 C.R.S. (1984). The conviction was affirmed on appeal to the Boulder County District Court. We granted certiorari and now affirm the district court.
The defendant claims that the district court erred in affirming his conviction because (1) trial was not commenced within six months after he entered a plea of not guilty as required by the speedy trial statute, section 18-1-405, 8B C.R.S. (1986); (2) the compulsory joinder…
